The new Chevrolet Equinox EV 2024 is the latest model in Chevrolet's growing EV lineup.
The new electric crossover
SUV comes just many months after General Motors showed off the 2024 Chevy
Blazer EV — its more extensive stock. The Equinox is one of Chevy’s best-
merchandisers, placing just behind the Silverado volley truck in periodic
deals. ( The Silverado also has an electric interpretation anticipated to arrive
at the end of 2023).
While it borrows its name and some design cues
from the gasoline-powered Equinox compact SUV, the electric interpretation
will be powered by GM’s Ultrium battery platform, much like the larger Blazer
EV, not to mention halo vehicles including the Cadillac Lyriq and GMC Hummer
EV.( Chevy’s other EV options, the Bolt EV and EUV, run on a former battery
system.) It has a noticeably “ electric look ” especially on the frontal end
with a tulle evocative of the newer Bolts.
With over 300- afar range and two battery size
options and an affordable starting price of around $30,000, the lower SUV hopes to
bring further people into the electric pack beyond Chevy Bolt guests.
New Electric Look
Chevy contrivers called the new EV’s look a “ suggestive design ” told by 1960s Americana on a wider, longer, lower base optimized for the battery that sits low in the vehicle’s lattice. A two-toned roof option highlights the wider brow line.A noticeably shorter protuberance and a solid frontal tulle telegraph its electric birth. The electric Equinox is 9 elevations longer and 3 elevations wider than the gas Equinox thanks to the Ultium battery layout.
The lines along the side panels,( and thus the focal point) are different from the gas interpretation and the doors feature flush handles. It’s a more aerodynamic vehicle with an everyday look and further athletic-looking station than the original Equinox but maintains its visual appeal as a family-friendly SUV.
New Electric Power and Fast Charging
The standard front-wheel-drive system provides 210 power and 242 pound- bases of the necklace. A binary-motor each-wheel drive interpretation ups the affair to 290- power and 346 lb-ft of a chain.Chevy hasn’t participated in specific battery capacity information but says the “ standard ” battery on the base interpretation will ultimately join a larger capacity battery with a longer range.
The Equinox EV will be presto-charging able, meaning it can add up to 70 long hauls of range in 10 twinkles. The standard charging rate will add 34 long hauls in an hour.
Trims and more Trims.
The Equinox EV will have a plenitude of options, starting with LT or RS trim situations. The LT will have black with blue innards or argentine, while RS offers black with red or all red innards. The base 1LT on a lower battery will have FWD system standard and 250- afar range. A bigger battery-equipped 1LT will offer a 280- or 300- afar range, depending on FWD or AWD.
The trims continue with 2LT, 2RS( plus a special launch edition 2RS interpretation), 3LT, and 3RS with the top trims riding on the 21-inch aluminum bus. On 2LT and 2RS, a white or black roof is available, independently, for further a gamble- reverse two-toned experience.
Technology Throughout
like the Blazer EV, the Equinox EV uses GM's new Ultifi electric system to run software and infotainment functions.
On all trims above 1LT, General Motors ’ Super Cruise hands-free driving system will be available, along with a17.7- inch touchscreen and head-up display. The base will have an 11- inch screen.
Safety and convenience features come standard on
the higher trims, beyond available Super Cruise driving help on roadways, with
adaptive voyage control, HD compass cameras, a power liftgate, and heated seats.
Equinox EV appearance and Price
The Equinox EV will debut in the fall of 2023 with a limited- edition 2RS. The everyday interpretation will be followed by other top trims before the 1LT arrives with the base battery pack. The base 1LT starts around $30,000 with pricing adding along the trims, but detailed pricing isn't yet available. All Equinox EVs will be assembled at GM’s Ramos Arizpe installation in Mexico, which qualifies it( along with its sub-$55,000 retail price) for the new civil duty credit for electric vehicles, which is worth $7,500.
